Born and raised in coastal South Carolina, Rush Dixon IV is a documentary and narrative-driven photographer currently based in New York City.
His relentless spontaneity has taken him on solo excursions to capture moments often unseen. Rush’s work transforms scenes of decay and neglect into narratives that challenge viewers’ perceptions. Whether it’s abandoned or weathered subjects, he seeks not only to document scenes as they are, but also imagines them as they were, revealing their intrinsic beauty over what’s fabricated. As he continues to travel, Rush remains committed to learning from these landscapes, encouraging viewers to discover the stories of forgotten spaces.
He will be earning his BFA in Photography from the Fashion Institute of Technology in May 2025. Past experience includes architectural photography, fashion photography, photography assistant, videography assistant, and audio tech.
